US Markets: The US indices had a mixed closing in the last session, with tech heavy Nasdaq Composite losing around half a per cent for the day. Today, in the pre-market session, all three major indices are deep in red, Dow was down by 0.60% to 35,600.30, Nasdaq has plunged further by around 0.80% to 15,645.03, and S&P was lower by 0.57% to 4,663.07 at 9.34 AM.

The markets are showing a sharp fall despite the report that weekly jobless claims declined substantially to 199,000, the lowest level seen since 1969. Also, traders seem to have overlooked the second-quarter GDP growth, which had revised slightly higher to 2.1%

UK Market News: The UK stock market continued the cautious trade on Wednesday (November 24); the oil stocks that had lifted the markets in the previous session were consolidating as now the major focus has turned to the possibility of a rate hike in December and a probable third wave. Both Royal Dutch Shell (LON: RDSA) and BP Plc (LON: BP.) were trading near the neutral line at the time of writing.
