To get an understanding of how domestic credit conditions have changed post-lockdown, the Reserve Bank conducted an out-of-cycle Credit Conditions Survey at the end of June 2020.
The survey was conducted in early March before the announcement of the COVID-19 alert and nationwide lockdown. Hence it reflects the views of respondents before the crisis.
The survey asked banks several qualitative questions related to differences in conditions in the bank lending market. The questions were focussed around observed changes in loan demand and credit availability during the previous six months and anticipated changes over the next six months period.
