Govt's Support to Hawke's Bay Airport to Protect Jobs, Safeguard Terminal Development

The Crown will give a loan to Hawke's Bay Airport to protect it against the economic effects of COVID-19 and help the region to recover and protect up to 200 jobs. 

The airport needs up to NZD 9 million due to a decrease in passenger numbers and profit. The Crown, which has 50 per cent shareholding in the airport will offer a loan of NZD 4.5 million, and the councils will further be providing up to a further NZD 4.5 million. The airport will get a total of NZD 9 million support.
