It is the only work in the Bruckner Reception to be performed live in St. Florian Abbey by a single conductor, taking advantage of the challenging acoustics.

VIENNA, AUSTRIA, October 24, 2023 /EINPresswire.com/ -- After a decade of intense musical collaboration, Rémy Ballot and the Altomonte Orchestra have completed an exceptional Bruckner cycle. The ten-part cycle of live recordings will be completed in 2023 with the recording of the "Cancelled Symphony WAB 100" and will be released internationally by GRAMOLA on November 15th.

The venerable St. Florian Basilica, with its reverberation time of up to ten seconds, presents an enormous acoustic challenge, which Rémy Ballot, in his role as Conductor in Residence of the Brucknertage St. Florian and the Altomonte Orchestra, has mastered with great skill. The French violinist and conductor, based in Vienna, places special emphasis on a rich, logical and natural sound concept that takes into account and interprets the unique acoustics of the church. The recordings feature a deliberately specific articulation and dynamic shaping that seamlessly integrates with the architectural and acoustic characteristics of the Basilica. This recording practice highlights the unique sound and special atmosphere of St. Florian's Basilica.

The complete recording presents not only the well-known versions of the symphonies, but also aims to spotlight rarely performed versions, offering a diverse and multifaceted Bruckner experience.

Another highlight is the close collaboration with renowned score editors such as Paul Hawkshaw, Benjamin Korstvedt, William Carragan and David Chapman, who contribute to the authenticity and excellence of the recordings.

The release of this exclusive complete edition by Gramola marks a milestone in Bruckner interpretation and invites music lovers to experience the incomparable relationship between Anton Bruckner and St. Florian in unmistakable musical splendor.
