Australian prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard insists he should be fit to play in the Kangaroos' World Cup quarter-final after being restricted to just 10 minutes in the 66-6 win over Italy.

The Kangaroos have completed their pool fixtures and the only fitness concern centres on Campbell-Gillard, who injured his thigh in the 12-try rout in St Helens.

The Parramatta prop is seen as a likely starter for the knockout stages but was in considerable discomfort after copping a bang to his leg while being tackled in the first half.

The Eels forward was taken off at halftime and failed to return, claiming the complaint shouldn't impact his ability to play next week's quarter-final where Lebanon appear to be Australia's most-likely opponent.

"It's a good old-fashioned cork," he said.

"It's something I haven't had for a while and I just couldn't get any movement going.

"Old mate got me really well and my tolerance to pain and trauma to my leg - I don't cope well.

"I should be fine. It's mainly about getting the swelling down so that's my main priority and getting me free and ready to be running by Tuesday or Wednesday for training."

Campbell-Gillard's big frame and ability to get their sets rolling will be essential to Australia's hopes of lifting a third-straight World Cup.

But the Parramatta prop said he couldn't be guaranteed of a spot in this Kangaroos side.

"It's a healthy battle within our squad and there's spots up for grabs, probably except Teddy," he said.

" I think Mal will definitely pick the right team and the right team will go out there and do a job next week.

"Everyone's had the two games to put in a performance."

Campbell-Gillard said he was relishing the prospect of facing Parramatta teammate Mitchell Moses, joking that he was already plotting a late shot on the Lebanese halfback, whose side round out their group games against winlesss Jamaica on Sunday.

"He (Moses) has been sending texts for the last two weeks," Campbell-Gillard said.

"They're going really well and have got a very good and experienced side. If I get the chance to be there, it'd be exciting."
