Olympic gold medallist Jessica Fox wasn't prepared to be upstaged by her little sister Noemi, storming to victory in the final of canoe event at the Australian championships.
The eight-time world champion qualified third best into the final round at Penrith's whitewater stadium behind her sister and American young gun Evy Leibfarth.
But Jessica, who won gold at the Tokyo Games in the C1 which was her fourth Olympic medal, was determined to maintain her hold on the event and crossed the line in a time of 104.84 seconds to secure the gold medal.
Leibfarth was second in 111.53 while Noemi, who had two penalties, clocked 119.91 to just miss the podium.
"I was really happy with that run - it was finally the run where everything feels flowing and you're powerful and strong and online and attacking it so I was really pleased to put that run down," 28-year-old Fox said.
"Especially after yesterday where it didn't quite feel like I was racing to my potential in the kayak so it was a nice run."
Fox finished third in the kayak event which was won by France's Camille Prigent, but backed up her C1 victory with a win in the new Olympic event of kayak cross.
"The kayak cross is an extra event on the program and it's definitely beefed up my training load and my racing load at the World Cup races especially where it's got to fit in those three days," said Fox, who is reigning world champion in the event.
In the men's canoe final, Victorian paddler Tristan Carter took first place, ahead of Tokyo Olympian Dan Watkins.
Ben Pope led home an Australian trifecta in the men's kayak cross final.
Among the results in the Australian Open canoe sprint titles, Olympian Alyce Wood won gold in the women's K1 500 metres in her first race since becoming a mother.
It was Wood's second win of the weekend having partnered with Kailey Harlen to win the K2 500 on Friday.
"I've got my little daughter Florence in the stand - it's been a big 18 months and so to come back and be able to put together a race I'm really proud of, it's cool," Wood said.
Tokyo team member Tom Green made it four wins from four events, edging his K2 teammate Jean van der Westhuyzen by 0.37 in the men's K1 500 final.
In the para canoe, Curtis McGrath continued his strong week with victory in the V1 200 multi-class while Susan Seipel claimed the women's equivalent.
