Highlights

  • Tennis champion Novak Djokovic has been waiting for the final decision on his visa.
  • It is very tough to determine the last call as the immigration minister faces a tight timeframe.
  • The Australian Border officials may turn up at the tennis court on visa cancellation.

With no decision from Immigration Minister Alex Hawke today, Tennis player Novak Djokovic’s wait on his Visa status continues.  Although the judge reinstated his visa, Mr Hawke had been unable to use his powers to cancel his visa.

And, with that the  VISA conundrum continues.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison fixated on his stance that unvaccinated foreign nationals should not enter Australia unless they provide a valid medical exemption. He said that all authorities must comply with a governemnt policy that says that non-citizens and non-residents should be double vaccinated or provide appropriate proof supporting the medical reason for which they cannot be vaccinated.

As per the experts, cancelling and not cancelling Novak’s visa will remain difficult during this situation. There are high chances that Australian Border officials will turn up at the tennis court if the visa gets cancelled.

According to current scenario, there are high chances within the government that the Minister will cancel Novak’s visa. Visa cancellation before the Australian Open can lead to Novak’s exile as he can become a threat to public health. He had applied for medical exemption from having COVID-19 vaccination administered.
