Are you a Netflix subscriber? If yes, now you will have to shell out more for accessing movies and shows on the popular streaming platform. Netflix has increased the price of its Australian subscriptions from 11 November 2021. fees on its standard and premium plans have been jacked by up to AU$3 a month from the current subscription fee.
Netflix Australia hikes prices; here’s what others are charging
Netflix said that the prices of the plans have been increased to allow it to “invest more in films and shows”.
How much Netflix’s plans cost now?
- Netflix's standard plan will now cost one dollar extra, increasing from AU$15.99 to AU$16.99 a month.
- The cost of premium plan will jump from AU$19.99 to AU$22.99.
- It’s basic plan will remain at its current price of AU$10.99.
The new prices will come into effect in customers’ next billing cycle after 18 November 2021. The company said that existing members will be notified via email with a 30-day notice before the bill reflects the change.

It will be interesting to see how Netflix customers react to this move by the streaming giant. Meanwhile, Netflix has begun testing a new feature called “Kids Clips”. The new feature will show short clips from the kids’ content library on Netflix.
The shirt clips will be refreshed and updated. Netflix has begun testing this feature in the US, Canada, Australia, Ireland, and Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America. However, it’s still not clear when the feature will be released.
