Despite the pandemic, many young entrepreneurs have taken the plunge to start their own ventures. While businesses are gradually returning to the pre-pandemic normal, some ambitious individuals have taken the entrepreneurial leap by opening their own startups.

This year saw a record number of deals and funds raised. According to an industry estimate,

the average seed funding amount in the first half of 2021 was US$2.5 million, a 47% jump from the same period a year ago.

Also, experts opined that larger the deal size, the greater the opportunity for startups at this phase. Besides, more venture capitalists have been queuing up to invest in startups.

The US has been home to a robust startup ecosystem for decades. According to Startup Genome’s Global Ecosystem Report, six of the top 10 global ecosystems were in the US. Silicon Valley topped the list, while New York, Boston, and Los Angeles were among the major ones.

Startups need funds to implement their ideas into action. As such, venture capitalists play a key role in giving the initial push. VCs provide long-term capital support to help the companies succeed. Currently, some 1000 VCs are operating in the country.
