Oklahoma City's deadly backcourt duo of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey have thrown down another warning to their Western Conference rivals that they plan on being involved in the NBA post-season.

The M-V-P chants rained down on Gilgeous-Alexander as he hit two critical free throws with 10 seconds remaining to help the Thunder hold off Phoenix 124-120 at home on Sunday.

The All-Star scored 40 points, while Australian Giddey had 16 points, six rebounds and six assists as OKC improved to 35-36 for eighth in the standings.

Oklahoma City have won four of five as they push for at least a play-in spot, having missed the playoffs the past two years.

"We had a home-court advantage for sure," Gilgeous-Alexander, who made 12-of-24 field goals and 16-of-19 free throws, said.

"They were energetic. They were their usual selves. It was a big game tonight, and it felt like it."

Luguentz Dort added 20 points for the Thunder, who trailed by 15 in the first half, while Devin Booker scored 46 points and Chris Paul added 14 points and 13 assists for the Suns.

Phoenix remain fourth in the West with a 38-33 record.

"The key to that type of win is just staying alive long enough for when the game turns," Thunder coach Mark Daigneault said.

In New York, Nikola Jokic had 22 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists for his 28th triple-double of the season and Denver beat Brooklyn 108-102.

Michael Porter Jr. added 28 points and nine rebounds for the West-leading Nuggets (48-24), while Jamal Murray scored 20 of his 25 points in the first quarter.

Denver looked nothing like the slumping team that had dropped five of six.

Mikal Bridges scored 23 points and Nic Claxton had 19 for the Nets (39-32), who have lost three straight as they try to hold onto sixth in the Eastern Conference.

And in San Antonio, Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell had 29 points each and the Spurs rallied from a 24-point deficit to beat Atlanta 126-118 and strike a blow for the Hawks' (35-36) post-season hopes.
