General Motors is all set to hit the EV market once again with its recent launch of Hummer EV – a progeny of gas-guzzling military-style SUV that the Company acquired in 1998. General Motors would now bring-in a new prototype of the beast model christened as “super truck” with massive horsepower and other unique features.

- The new Hummer EV would feature 1,000 horsepower, 11,500 pound-feet of torque, and would be capable of 0 to 60 miles per hour dash in 3 seconds. The Super Truck will be going into production during the fall of 2021.

The sale of the all-new Hummer EV is planned for a year earlier than Tesla’s Cybertruck, and apart from the vehicle space, GM would also compete with the EV giant in the battery space with its propriety Ultium batteries pitted against the million-mile batteries from Tesla.
GMC also pointed towards the future with Mark Reuss (President General Motors) mentioning that GMC Hummer EV won’t be the first and the last entry in the space.
The GMC President suggested that the Company would now offer multiple models with multiple variants, for multiple customers – calling it a vehicle and package for everyone.
Adding to the release speech, Mark Reuss also suggested that the Company is confident that its strategy of combining advanced technology, flexibility, speed, and scale is unparalleled in the industry.
