A former Cricket Australia executive allegedly sexually assaulted a junior male staffer in his bed after the association's end-of-season party.

Timothy Joseph Whittaker, 37, denies the alleged incident took place at his Abbotsford home in the early hours of March 16, 2019.

Whittaker and a group of other Cricket Australia staffers had gone to the apartment after hours of drinking at the association's end-of-season event in South Melbourne.

The 37-year-old had finished up in his role as head of communications earlier that day.

The alleged victim was asleep on Whittaker's couch when the rest of the guests left at 5am, former staffer Sean Larkin told Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Mr Larkin said he woke later that morning to missed calls from the alleged victim and a voicemail that said "something really f***** up happened at Tim's".

When Mr Larkin spoke to the man, he claimed he woke up in Whittaker's bed with his pants off and the 37-year-old masturbating him without his consent.

The man alleged Whittaker rolled over and pretended to be asleep when he realised the man was awake.

The alleged victim claims Whittaker called him once he redressed and left the apartment, telling him to come back upstairs but the man told him to "f*** off".

Mr Larkin told the court he felt guilty for leaving the man asleep on Whittaker's couch but thought he would be safe there.

The alleged victim appeared scared and upset after the incident, Mr Larkin said.

Whittaker has denied the alleged incident took place and is fighting a charge of intentionally sexually touching without consent in the Melbourne Magistrates Court.

He has also pleaded not guilty to a separate sexual touching offence on January 8, 2016.

The court room was closed to media on Tuesday and Wednesday morning as the two male complainants gave evidence.

More witnesses will give evidence on Thursday.

Whittaker was Cricket Australia's head of communications, acting as a spokesman for the organisation during the Cape Town ball tampering scandal in 2018.

He resigned from the role in March 15, 2019, to take up another position at the International Cricket Council in Dubai.
