Danielle Scott has claimed her first overall World Cup title and countrywoman Laura Peel won the World Cup meet in Kazakhstan on another banner day for Australia's dominant women's aerial skiing squad.

Peel claimed the victory in Almaty on Sunday as the only female skier to jump triple back somersaults in the finals.

The 33-year-old's score of 110.36 points was good enough to secure the eighth victory of her World Cup career.

Scott was second with 97.99 points and Canadian Marion Thenualt third.

Peel and Scott also went one-two at the previous World Cup meet last weekend in Engadin, Switzerland, although on that occasion it was the latter who topped the podium.

The second-placed finish in Kazakhstan proved enough for Scott to claim her first Crystal Globe, joining countrywomen Kirstie Marshall, Jacqui Cooper, Alisa Camplin, Lydia Lassila and Peel as World Cup aerial skiing champions.

Scott finished on top of the overall standings with 462 points, while Peel moved ahead of Thenault into second spot on 350.

"There is a lot of weight to this one, for me it's honestly - finally," said the 32-year-old Scott.

"I am so proud of the team around me, my coaches, just everyone, we have worked so well together this season and I am so grateful."

Peel - who is a two-time world champion and dual Crystal Globe winner - paid tribute to her compatriot.

"I had a tough start to the season, the first two events I just jumped like a potato, and when you only have six events it's hard to make up points, so I am super stoked to finish second today," she said.

"Australia 1-2 is massive and big congratulations to Dani on the Crystal Globe."
