About Virgin Music

Virgin Music Label & Artist Services is a division of Universal Music Group.

Universal Music launched its global distribution and services division last year with an MO to collaborate with and service the independent artists and labels from around the globe.

Meanwhile, in March 2021, Virgin Music announced its Australian Venture the same year.

Virgin Music network includes staffed, regional hubs combining UMG’s technology platforms and local specialist networks.

Mushroom has maintained a strong foothold in Australia for decades, and now it has taken another giant step in building a global brand value.

With this new alliance, London-based Korda Marshall has become the International Director of Mushroom. Korda is a long-standing member of the extended Mushroom Group family.

Bottom line

Mushroom will continue its digital distribution in Australia and New Zealand, with its division being 100% independent. The new partnership will not impact Mushroom’s operations in these two countries.
