Josie Baff has continued her impressive season by winning a bronze medal at the snowboard cross World Cup event in Veysonnaz, Switzerland.

It was the 20-year-old from Cooma's fourth podium of the campaign, which includes a World Cup victory in December and a silver medal at her first ever World Championships in Georgia earlier this month.

After qualifying seventh fastest for finals, the 2020 youth Olympic champion advanced through the quarter and semi-final rounds in second place, just behind the Czech Republic's two-time Olympic medallist Eva Adamczykova to reach the big-final medal round.

The star-studded big-final featured the top four women in the World Cup standings, with Baff just edging out France's Chloe Trespeuch but finishing behind winner Charlotte Bankes of Great Britain and Adamczykova.

"It was really close racing and very hot today in the sun, so I am very grateful to my coaches and wax technicians, I couldn't have got it done without them," Jindabyne rider Baff, who crashed out at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, said.

"After a disappointing World Cup last week in Sierra Nevada, it's always nice to be back on the podium.

"Heading into the World Cup final in Mont Sainte-Anne and then the Junior World Championships I can definitely carry this momentum."

After seven World Cup events this season, Baff is third on the standings with 353 points, trailing Bankes (578) and Trespeuch (510).

In the men's event, Australia's Adam Lambert finished tenth to record his second-best World Cup finish of the season, with compatriot Cameron Bolton in 31st.

The snowboard cross tour will now head to Canada for the final two World Cup events of the season in Mont Sainte-Anne on March 25-26.
