A man who allegedly aided the gangland murderer of Mahmoud "Brownie" Ahmad will remain behind bars before a potential trial as police continue their hunt for the killer.

Robert Abou-Sleiman, 33, is accused of harbouring and assisting the mystery murderer by helping dispose of the cars used after Ahmad was gunned down in a hail of bullets in Sydney in April 2022.

Police arrested Robert and Simon Abou-Sleiman, also 33, on Monday claiming they were also involved in securing a man, known only as Witness A, to murder another man in a plot unrelated to Ahmad's death.

The two men are accused of directing the activities of a criminal group, selling a total of almost 13 kilograms of methylamphetamine and 8 kilograms of cocaine, and attempting to launder $402,000 in cash.

Robert and Simon Abou-Sleiman both appeared in Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday where they made no application for bail.

Their lawyer Leonie Gittani tried but failed to gain a court order preventing their names being publicly reported.

Since June last year, six men have been arrested over their alleged involvement in the shooting of Ahmad but no one has been charged with actually pulling the trigger.

One of the men arrested, Frank Delcol, has had two accessory to murder charges dropped. He pleaded guilty to a number of drug-related charges in February and will face sentencing on July 25.

Robert and Simon Abou-Sleiman will next appear at Burwood Local Court on May 17 along with the three other men charged over the killing, Jason Laria, Pierre Abou-Sleiman and Jamal Salameh.
