HONG KONG, Dec. 14, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- The Inaugural Fosun Health Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Healthcare Development Integration was successfully held in Hong Kong by Fosun Health on December 12, 2023. With the background of integrating medical services of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, this year's conference themed "Collaboration and Integration for Better Healthcare" aimed to facilitate better interconnection of healthcare services for residents in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), and to further promote the development of a "Three Links" system in the context of "Medication and Medical Device Link", "Talent Link" and "Information Link".

Nearly 100 representatives from the healthcare industry, including clinicians and senior members of Hong Kong medical institutions attended the event.

As one of the qualified hospitals in Guangdong and the first in Foshan with the "Hong Kong-Macao Medication and Medical Device Link" policy implantation, Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital plays a pivotal role in Fosun Health's "Three Links" system. Currently, the hospital has successfully introduced three types advanced medications and two types of advanced medical equipment under the policy. In November, the FARAPULSE pulsed field ablation (PFA) system was introduced at Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital and the Fosun clinical team performed the first batch of PFA procedures in mainland China. In terms of "Talent Link", Dr. Peng Yucheng, Director of Cardiovascular Department at Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital worked closely with Prof. Lam Yat Yin at Hong Kong Asia Heart Center on clinical applications of PFA.

In addition, facilitating Hong Kong and Macao doctors to practice at hospitals in GBA is also a key approach for Fosun Health to promote "Talent Link". Rich clinical experience provided by Hong Kong and Macao physicians enables safe use of advanced medications and medical devices urgently needed by patients at Fosun hospitals. Currently, Fosun Health has established collaborations with clinical experts at Asia Medical Specialists, Center Medical, The Women's Clinic Group, Alliance Medical Group and other medical groups in Hong Kong and Macao.

In terms of compliance-based "Information Link", Fosun Health is exploring system interconnections with DoctorNow and Doctor Q online platforms in Hong Kong to enable remote consultations and follow-ups by Hong Kong doctors for patients in mainland China.
