What should students do in their free time?

What should students do in their free time?

College years are the best time for most people. However, some play computer games without doing anything at all, others disappear in nightclubs, discos, or cafes, after sleeping off lectures. While others, decide to spend their time more effectively.

The results of sociological surveys of students categorically state that only 25% of all students know how to spend time effectively after classes. The student, like no one else, has a flexible schedule, so he has a huge amount of time, energy, and opportunities for self-improvement and development. As a student, I chose to write my paper for me after classes, so I could use the information that had been explained before.

Students have always been considered a generator of new ideas, the most active part of any society.

Today, the word "student" refers to a person who is energetic, active, and cheerful.

Science and creativity are an interesting pastime

Not everyone likes to spend time idly. Some young people are looking for new ways to gain knowledge and experience. Numerous conferences, contests of scientific papers, round tables, student Olympiads are of interest to those who see themselves as creative and purposeful people.

The doors of educational institutions offering a second higher education and various additional courses are open to students who are eager for additional knowledge. It is estimated that about 9% of young people use their free time to gain additional knowledge.

Another type of leisure is a social activity

Today, young people have their own active life and civic position on all issues. Modern activists are happy to participate in the social life of their group, faculty, or university. These are various creative contests, social events and rallies, joint outings into nature, clean-up days, and other important and interesting things that leave a bright trace and pleasant memories.

What should students do in their free time?

If you are an active person, then you will be noticed and entrusted with some kind of social work. For example, to be the head of a group or to perform other socially significant tasks, for which, by the way, they can also pay.

Sport as a lifestyle

The opportunity to engage in sports and clubs is another area where you can enjoy your time. Usually, each university offers a wide range of sports activities. But if he is not satisfied, there is always an opportunity to visit other sports centers, for example, tourism or rock climbing. Usually, the student admission is free or much cheaper.

Part-time work in my free time

Part time employement somewhat limits the opportunities of young people to spend their student years brightly and pleasantly, but they give valuable life experience and, importantly, additional finances.

In general, student life is the most eventful time, which is a real crime to miss.

Why is it easier to surf the internet?

Everyone is already used to the fact that the Internet is a time killer, powerful as a Maelstrom funnel.

After digging into the bowels of the brain, scientists have found five convincing answers.

Quenching the thirst for knowledge. Evolution has built into us a research instinct - scouting. It is stimulated by dopamine, which we used to think of as a pleasure hormone. It is more of a "motivation hormone". It makes us want; only when we achieve what we want, the opiate system of the brain – the "reward system" - turns on. Dopamine is stronger than opiates, so we are more inclined to seek new pleasures than to sit in a contented stupor for days. But the availability of answers on the web turns the search for information from a process into a result. You found what you needed, and then followed the link, one more, another, and another… Dopamine-opiates, dopamine-opiates, dopamine-opiates... until something breaks down in this system. Satiety sets in.

"What men talk about"

The beauty of the unknown. If you put two cakes from the chef on a plate in front of you, one of which you have tried, and the second one has not, then the untested one will certainly seem a little more attractive to you. Uncertainty stimulates dopamine production more than stability. But when we check our mail, we never know what is in a new letter – an advertisement for a forklift factory or a date invitation!

Conditioned reflex. We humans, though more complex creatures than the notorious Pavlov's dogs, still do not consist of pure ether. Twitter chirping, a yellow circle on a blue Skype background, a rectangle of a new letter are all conditional signals for the formation of conditioned reflexes; and in this case, the anticipation of the reward may even be more pleasant than the reward itself.

A sense of time. A person does not limit himself to the time frame "here and now". In the present, he plans the future and remembers the past. Things that require an emotional response are flowing. The brain does not have time to archive such an abundance of data, and time turns into one very long present moment. Finally, the numb body timidly reminds the deceived brain of itself, you catch yourself and see that it's already half-past two in the morning…

The pleasure of self-presentation. It turned out that our brain considers conversations (and not only conversations) about itself a useful and valuable experience. How useful? The act of revealing information about yourself activates the same part of the brain that is associated with getting pleasure from food, money, and sex. And the more public this act is, the more fun it will be. In Harvard University studies, people were asked to talk about themselves; one group knew it had an audience, the other was simply recorded. The activity of neurons on MRI in the first group was significantly higher. This explains why people post on the web even the information that can harm them, for example, a photo drunk or naked (one does not exclude the other, of course).

Now that you know how it works, it will be easier for you to resist the temptations of the World Wide Web.
