AtkinsRéalis Group, a global leader in Industrial sector, has announced its partnership with United Utilities, the UK’s largest publicly listed water company, for a transformative environmental program. The program, worth up to £90 million, will focus on improving water supply efficiency, cleaning rivers, and enhancing utility services across the northwest of England over the next 11 years. This initiative represents the largest water-related environmental program in the region in more than a century. 

Collaboration to Revolutionize Water Infrastructure 

As one of three primary design and development partners, AtkinsRéalis (TSX: ATRL) will bring its extensive engineering expertise to the project. The company is tasked with creating sustainable and scalable designs for various water and wastewater schemes. Additionally, it will focus on bio resource management and rainwater projects, contributing to the long-term sustainability of the water supply infrastructure. 

This collaboration will enable AtkinsRéalis to implement innovative design and engineering solutions aimed at improving the efficiency of water management systems. With its involvement in the program, the company seeks to support critical advancements in the infrastructure needed to ensure clean drinking water and efficient wastewater management across the UK.

The program is set to make a significant impact on the region’s economy, supporting an estimated 30,000 jobs over the next decade. Of these, 7,000 new jobs will be directly created within United Utilities and its broader supply chain.
