Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway (US:BRK.A, NYSE:BRK.A) Class A Shares have achieved such a high price that Nasdaq exchange computers are unable to calculate their price. The exchange website has stopped publishing price quotes for them from Tuesday, May 4.
The New York Exchange-listed Berkshire Hathaway stock has NASDAQ's system in check, as its price exceeded the computable figure of US$429,496.7295. The stock achieved an all-time high of US$ 435,120 apiece on Thursday, May 6.
Although the Wall Street Journal alerted through an article two days ago that the rising price could impact NASDAQ in the ‘Y2K’ way or ‘the year 2000 effect' , when computers failed to change the year from 1999 to 2000.
Warren Buffett Says No To Share Split
Mr Buffett, the stock market legend, is currently the sixth-richest person worldwide as per the Forbes real-time data, with a wealth of US$ 109.3 billion. Despite the recent NASDAQ glitches from its rising Class A shares price, the billionaire investor is not keen to further split the stock.
Berkshire Hathaway Class B shares (US:BRK.B, NYSE:BRK.A) are currently trading at US$ 289.71 apiece (closing price on May 6).
There is no other US company with a six-figure share price. The second highest share price is held by home constructer NVR Inc. (NVR:US, NYSE:NVR), which was trading at US$ 5,134.44 per common share.

It has increased by 68 per cent in one year and returned more than 25 per cent in 2021, surpassing the S&P 500 Multi-Sector Holdings Index.
The stock is currently trading at a lifetime high, up 2.08 per cent from its previous 52-week high of 426,250 apiece (Recorded on May 5, 2021). It has maintained its uptrend this year and up 25.25 per cent from the 200-day simple moving average.
The company generated US$ 245.5 billion in annual revenue in the previous year, a decrease of 3.57 per cent against US$ 254.6 billion in the full year 2019.
