The TSX Composite Index gained again for the third straight day on Thursday, November 25, as Wall Street remained close for Thanksgiving. IT rose almost one per cent followed by healthcare 0.8 per cent as all the major sectors, bar base metals were in the green.
Meanwhile, a StatCan report stated that while payroll employment rose 0.5 per cent in September, many sectors are still facing record-high vacancies and a shortage of labor supply. The benchmark index closed at 21,613.18, a growth of 64.75 points, 0.3 per cent.

Manulife Financial Corporation saw 13 million shares traded, making it the most active stock and it was followed by Sun Life Financial Inc that saw 4.86 million shares switch hands and Suncor Energy Inc had 3.19 million shares traded.

Gold up
Gold was up by 0.45 per cent to US$ 1,792.40. Brent oil fell a little by 0.04 per cent to US$ 82.22/bbl. Crude was also in the red 1.25 per cent to US$ 77.41/bbl after President Joe Biden decided to tap into oil reserves.
Currency news
The loonie grew by 0.14 per cent Thursday while USD/CAD was down to 1.2648. The US Dollar Index fell against the basket of major currencies, down 0.1 per cent and ended at 96.77.
Money market
The US 10-year bond yield fell 2.83 per cent Thursday to 1.596 and the Canada 10-year bond yield fell 1.07 per cent to 1.764.
