The United States-based provider of flexible liquefied natural gas, Excelerate Energy, is looking to go public and announced the terms of its initial public offering on Monday, April 4. Since then, it appears to have caught the attention of potential investors in a rather dull IPO market.
This year has not been exciting for IPOs compared to 2021, when private companies capitalized on retail investors' sentiments and raised record gross proceeds.
Due to interest rate hikes and the war between Russia and Ukraine, IPOs have not performed so well in 2022 and many companies delayed or cancelled their IPO plans.
When is Excelerate Energy going public?
It is estimated that Excelerate Energy could go public on April 13, 2022. However, interested investors should watch the official announcement from the company or the stock exchange it wants to get listed on.
To invest in a stock, investors have an option of purchasing it online or through a stockbroker. Investors should note that investing in IPO stocks has its pros and cons. It may open at a higher price and give returns and there is also a possibility that the LNG provider’s stock opens at a lower price, resulting in losses.

The amended prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission revealed that Excelerate Energy aims to offer 16 million common shares, and it has kept the price range of the shares between US$ 21 to US$ 24 apiece.
If the shares are sold at the highest price, which is US$ 24 per share, then the company could achieve a valuation of US$ 2.5 billion. Excelerate Energy is expected to debut on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and trade under the stock symbol EE.
The leading underwriters for Excelerate Energy are Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, and Barclays. If the IPO happens, it could be one of the first major IPOs in 2022.
