Innovative Eyewear Inc, the new US operator of the Lucyd® smartglass brand, is all set to take the wearables world by storm. The company, established in 2019 but with a team experienced in smart eyewear, has already made its mark by producing beautiful, affordable glasses with Bluetooth capabilities. Now they are on a mission to upgrade the world’s glasses through smart eyewear, which acts like headphones and glasses in one.
“The company has answered the longstanding desire of putting headphones and glasses together, by offering a unique combination of prescription, tech, and fashion at the same price as traditional glasses.”
A perfect example of how the company wants to make your digital life more accessible through smartglasses, Innovative Eyewear is building a unique software experience to accompany their smart frames and further enhance their user experience. The company is developing a voice-controlled app called Vyrb™, which will allow eyeglass wearers to create, listen and respond to social media posts with their voice, without even glancing at their smartphone. Vyrb will work through Lucyd frames or by activating the voice assistant on any compatible device, in addition to offering a visual interface.
Nowadays, life without a smartphone is beyond imagination and the information-hungry world is always looking at their mobile screen, not only getting distracted from the surroundings but also becoming prone to accidents. Every seven minutes in the US a pedestrian gets hit by a car. In the last few years, devices with voice assistant capabilities have witnessed a dramatic rise, but none are truly ergonomic for people on the go.
Recent market research data have shown that the global “Hearables” market (audio-focused wearables), has become the fastest-growing consumer electronics product sector ever, and is presently valued at around USD $22-23 billion (2020), and is expected to almost quadruple to USD $88-89 billion by the end of 2026, a span of just six years.
The company has brought vision correction and protection together with digital connectivity and clear audio, offering a safer solution for listening to music, talking on your phone and using your apps on the go, compared to in-ear headphones and excess screen time. Speak your mind, and Vyrb™ will enable voice posting to social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook with your glasses.

The human voice has gone missing lately. Vyrb plans to bring it back in December 2020.
The company is all set to launch the beta Vyrb mobile application in December 2020. This exciting app will allow the user to operate their social media accounts with voice commands, in addition to providing an all-new voice-focused social network. The company recently filed a new patent on the app covering some of its unique features, including verbal hashtagging. We think this app has the potential to improve the way the people interact with social media when they are out and about, as well as revive the nuances of verbal communication that have been lost in the text-focused social media and messaging world.

See What the Makers Have to Say, With Their Q&A About Vyrb™
- What can one do with this app?
The main goal of Vyrb is to enable voice-based social media. Not only are we building our own social network based on audio content, such as spoken status updates, verbal blogs and amateur music, we are building a pathway to post to, and hear your main social feeds. That means you will be able to post updates to Facebook and Twitter through Vyrb by speaking to your voice assistant, right on our Lucyd smart frames. After speaking a post, Vyrb will transcribe it into text, and then post to both the Vyrb network and external platforms based on user preferences. Similarly, Vyrb will compile your various feeds, and make them audible in one easy stream with a unique Autoplay function. Vyrb will also enable expanded voice messaging and speech-to-text messaging with a voice-focused inbox.
- How exactly the Vyrb Social Media App works?
Vyrb has two main components: one is its native social network, which acts much like other social media but with a focus on auditory content. The other component is that it acts like a voice-controlled gearbox for your external social platforms, allowing external posting and importing of feeds and messages. The second component is more complex, but it will be easy to set up for the user. They will be able to select which accounts they want to interact with on Vyrb, and the app will connect their Vyrb account to them via APIs. Furthermore, since the app is heavily reliant on voice, it is being designed to be completely usable through voice assistants like Siri after initial setup. So Vyrb is like a layer connecting Siri, Google Voice or Alexa to your social media life.
- How easy is it going to be creating and editing voice messages with Vyrb in real-time?
We are designing a unique post creation pop-up for quick and easy voice editing. It is in a familiar social media format but adds in quick audio editing tools, including a panel of "Sound FX", which are like audible emojis that can be inserted into a voice post. For example, a heartbeat sound will be the equivalent of a heart emoji. We are focused on short-form audio posts of 5 minutes or less, so the interface will encourage simply starting fresh instead of over-editing your recording.
- How affordable is Vyrb Social Media App?
Vyrb is going to be completely free! Like many social apps, Vyrb's revenue model is based on hosting ad content. We may also offer premium features such as different voice accents for feed readouts, custom voice commands, a marketplace of "famous voices" that can be hired as spokespeople or influencers, and more.
- Is there any other similar app in the market, and how is the company protecting its IP?
Although some core features of Vyrb are scattered among other pieces of software, none of them come together to create a novel social experience that makes your existing social feeds voice-accessible, while also providing a new platform for you to literally speak your mind. We have filed a utility patent on some of Vyrb's core features, including a unique spoken-hashtag system for indexing posts. The Vyrb name is also an applied-for trademark of Innovative Eyewear, Inc.
