Highlights

  • Second drillhole confirms copper-gold mineralisation

  • IOCG and porphyry systems observed at site

  • Next drill targets structural anomalies

Solis Minerals (ASX:SLM) is making significant strides in its exploration journey with new findings from its wholly owned Chancho al Palo Project. The company has recently completed its second diamond drillhole, uncovering visible copper and gold mineralisation a strong indication of the project's to host meaningful deposits.

This drilling campaign follows an initial drillhole that revealed the presence of iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) and porphyry-style mineralisation. The findings from the second hole not only validate the results from the first but also indicate a possible extension of the mineralised system, enhancing the geological promise of the project.

Drilling Confirms Expanding Mineralisation

The second drillhole of the program encountered key mineral features, including breccia textures associated with copper-bearing minerals. These visible characteristics are typically linked to copper-gold systems and support the interpretation of a broader mineralised zone.

This follows the company's discovery in the first drillhole, where geological structures resembling IOCG and porphyry styles were identified. These systems are known to be favorable hosts for large-scale mineral deposits, and the continued presence across multiple drillholes a cohesive mineralised structure within the project area.

The ongoing drilling is part of a broader program expected to include three to five drillholes, aimed at better understanding the subsurface geology and the scale of mineralisation.

Focus Shifts to Structural Targets

Solis Minerals is now shifting its attention to the third drillhole, which will test geophysical anomalies detected in earlier surveys. The goal is to intersect a cross-fault structure believed to resemble those associated with porphyry systems at other projects, such as the company's Ilo Este property.

This approach underscores the company’s focus on targeting structurally controlled mineral systems, which could be key to unlocking additional mineralisation within the Chancho al Palo area. These fault structures often act as fluid conduits, concentrating copper and gold within defined zones.

Drill core samples from the completed holes are being prepared for laboratory testing, with results expected soon. These results will provide greater clarity on the grades and mineral content, offering further insight into the system’s scale and economic relevance.

Momentum Grows Around Exploration Strategy

The recent findings at Chancho al Palo support Solis Minerals’ broader exploration strategy. With visible copper-gold mineralisation in the core and geological markers consistent with major mineral systems, the project continues to attract growing attention.

The methodical drilling plan, combined with targeted geophysical, forms a well-structured approach to exploration. As the campaign progresses, additional data from laboratory assays will help the company refine its geological models and determine future steps for project development.

Solis Minerals (SLM) remains focused on unlocking the full of its assets through systematic exploration and technical rigor. With encouraging signs already in hand, the Chancho al Palo Project is shaping up as a key area to watch in the copper-gold exploration space.
