Broad gold zones discovered at Payns Prospect
45 out of 46 drill holes intersected gold mineralisation
Further exploration planned to expand high-grade areas
Nexus Minerals (ASX:NXM) has shared encouraging results from its initial reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Payns Prospect, part of its Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia. The drilling program has revealed extensive gold mineralisation across a large area, confirming the presence of a significant mineralised system.
The RC program, which included 46 drill holes, was designed to follow up on earlier aircore drilling that had indicated the for a large-scale gold system. The new data has confirmed a strong continuity of gold across the 900 by 750-metre target zone, adding confidence to the project’s exploration.
High Success Rate Across Drill Holes
One of the standout elements of this program is the consistency of the gold results. Out of 46 drill holes completed, 45 successfully intersected gold mineralisation. This high success rate indicates a strong and persistent mineralised structure at depth, with several zones returning notable intersections.
These findings support the company’s view that the Payns Prospect hosts a broad and continuous gold system. The mineralised zones demonstrated in the recent campaign align well with historical results and contribute to a growing geological model for the prospect.
Expanding the Geological Model
With the presence of strong mineralisation now clearly outlined, the company is turning its focus to refining and expanding its geological understanding of the area. The consistent results from this drilling phase provide a solid foundation to extend the exploration footprint and test for deeper and higher-grade targets.
Future exploration activity is likely to include additional RC and diamond drilling, aimed at exploring extensions and identifying resource boundaries. The geological model will be updated based on the current findings to help prioritise follow-up targets across the broader Wallbrook Project.
Positioning for Continued Growth
The Payns Prospect is located within a highly prospective region of Western Australia, a well-known hub for gold exploration and production. The success of this RC drilling campaign further strengthens Nexus Minerals’ position in the gold sector and supports its long-term exploration strategy.
The next phases of work will focus on enhancing the company’s understanding of the mineralised system and unlocking further value from the Wallbrook Project. With the strong results from this round of drilling, Nexus appears well-positioned to progress toward more advanced exploration outcomes.
