Highlights
- 7km-long mineralized strike confirmed at Minbrie Copper and Base Metals Project
- 85% of historical drill holes did not reach target depth, signaling further potential
- Exploration expanded to include value-add minerals like gold, silver, and rare earth elements
Lincoln Minerals (ASX:LML) has identified multiple sulphide zones along a 7km strike at its Minbrie Copper and Base Metals Project in South Australia. This discovery, based on a thorough review of historical drilling data, underscores the untapped potential within the region.
The latest findings highlight additional mineralization along strike from the BUDD192 discovery hole, which returned an intercept of 29.5 meters at 0.8% copper, 7.5% lead, 1.9% zinc, and 9 grams per tonne silver from a depth of 131.1 meters. These results emphasize the broader base metal potential and the need for further systematic exploration.
A key aspect of the analysis showed that 85% of historical drill holes did not reach their target depth. Among those that did, only 16% of the footwall sequence was tested for base metals. This suggests significant upside potential, as much of the mineral-rich system remains unexamined.
With a market capitalization of $12.33 million, Lincoln Minerals (ASX:LML) sees this development as a major step in scaling up the project. CEO Jonathon Trewartha emphasized the importance of re-examining past drill data, which continues to reveal promising results.
“Revisiting historic drill holes from Centrex’s (ASX:CXM) 2011 program has brought new insights, and efforts are now focused on refining high-priority drill targets in this highly prospective region,” Trewartha said.
To accelerate progress at Minbrie, Lincoln is actively securing regulatory and land access approvals in preparation for drilling. Additionally, the company is conducting an extensive drill core review, targeted geochemical analysis, and broader elemental testing. These steps aim to enhance the understanding of the mineral system and optimize future exploration efforts.
Beyond base metals, the company is also evaluating the potential for high-value minerals, including gold, silver, and critical elements such as gallium, germanium, and rare earth elements. This expanded scope aligns with growing market demand for strategic minerals essential for advanced technologies.
Located north of Lucky Bay on the southern Eyre Peninsula, the Minbrie Project represents a key component of Lincoln’s diversified exploration portfolio. Alongside Minbrie, the company is advancing its Kookaburra Graphite Project, further strengthening its position in South Australia's resource sector.
