  • Targets $28 million revenue with a $1.7 million investment
  • US DoD backing and strong graphite pricing support outlook

International Graphite Ltd (ASX:IG6) is ramping up its international ambitions with a strategic move to expand its graphite processing operations beyond Western Australia. The company is laying the foundation to double its annual revenue to $28 million, with just a $1.7 million expansion, aiming to capitalise on growing global demand for high-purity graphite materials used in clean energy and battery applications.

At the centre of its domestic expansion is the Collie Graphite Micronising Facility, where development is accelerating following a Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) study released in March 2025. The study outlines a capital cost of $6.3 million to build a facility capable of producing 4,000 tonnes of micronised graphite per annum, a key material in lithium-ion battery anodes.

Looking beyond Australian borders, International Graphite is exploring international locations, with the United States and Europe under active consideration. A proposed site in Savannah, Georgia, stands out as a front-runner in the US. These overseas ventures are anchored in the company’s extensive intellectual property and proven operational expertise developed at its Collie plant.

Adding momentum to its strategy, the company has submitted a proposal to the US Department of Defense for US$7.5 million in award funding. This support could bolster its integrated “mine to market” supply chain from the Springdale Graphite Project. The project aims to supply anode materials for batteries used in electric vehicles, defence technologies, and other strategic applications.

One of the driving forces behind this expansion is the favourable pricing landscape for graphite products. Demand for both standard and high-purity micronised graphite, along with expandable graphite, remains robust — offering strong commercial justification for scaling up processing capabilities. This positions International Graphite to broaden its customer base across several key global markets.

As part of the critical minerals space, International Graphite’s ambitions align with broader market themes driving innovation across ASX200 stocks. Learn more about other ASX200 players in this sector.

With its globally relevant resources and a blueprint for sustainable growth, International Graphite (ASX:IG6) is positioning itself to be a significant contributor in the international graphite supply chain — meeting the rising needs of the clean energy revolution and ensuring secure sourcing of this critical mineral.
