  • Green Critical Minerals partners with GreenSquareDC on advanced graphite cooling solutions
  • VHD graphite to enhance thermal management in data centres and high-performance tech
  • Pilot plant now producing graphite blocks for next-gen electronic applications

Green Critical Minerals (ASX:GCM) is advancing its position in the next-generation thermal management space through a strategic collaboration with data centre developer GreenSquareDC. The two companies have signed a two-year agreement to co-develop high-performance thermal management products, targeting the growing demands of hyperscale data centres and AI-powered infrastructure.

The focus of this collaboration lies in the application of very high density (VHD) graphite, a material that is emerging as a superior alternative to traditional cooling components. Known for its exceptional thermal conductivity and sustainability profile, VHD graphite is being explored as a scalable solution not only for data centres but also for high-performance electronics and AI computing environments.

According to Green Critical Minerals, this deal represents tangible commercial interest in its proprietary VHD graphite technology. It builds upon the company’s recent progress in machining its first prototype heat sink, which demonstrated the material's capability to offer lighter and more efficient thermal performance.

GreenSquareDC, a billion-dollar Australian data centre operator, brings to the table its expertise in sustainable, AI-optimized digital infrastructure. The company’s mission aligns closely with environmental responsibility, integrating renewable energy and cutting-edge thermal systems into its data centres. Their facilities are designed with hyperscale and cloud clients in mind, making them an ideal partner in commercialising advanced heat management solutions.

This development follows Green Critical Minerals' commissioning of Line 1 of its VHD graphite technology pilot plant in New South Wales earlier this year. The pilot plant, which has moved from dry to wet commissioning, is now actively producing graphite blocks for customer trials. These blocks are being used in both high-performance electronic heat sink prototypes and solar-thermal energy storage applications.

Looking ahead, the company plans to scale up operations with a second production line that will increase output for the heat sink market and support the development of graphite products for electrical discharge machining and solar-thermal demonstration systems.

Green Critical Minerals sees this collaboration as a key step in its customer qualification strategy across key regions including North America, Europe, and Australia. The partnership with GreenSquareDC signals growing momentum and confidence in the commercial readiness of VHD graphite for real-world thermal management challenges.
