Highlights

  • Strong drilling results from Barrambie gold project
  • Exploration focus on Ironclad and Mystery zones
  • Plans for expanded drilling activities ahead

Neometals (ASX:NMT) has announced fresh drilling outcomes from its Barrambie project in Western Australia, revealing high-grade gold zones and prompting plans for further exploration. Although Barrambie is best known for its world-class titanium deposit, the region’s gold potential has long been an underexplored opportunity.

Gold exploration at Barrambie has been relatively limited since the 1990s, but recent findings suggest the area may host valuable mineralisation across multiple zones. The latest diamond drilling program, undertaken in recent months, focused on areas within the Sugarstone Centre, where notable intersections were encountered.

Drilling Insights from Ironclad and Mystery

Ironclad Exploration

The Ironclad zone emerged as a key area of interest. Drilling confirmed the presence of higher-grade gold mineralisation, enhancing geological understanding of the site. These results support the view that Ironclad holds significant untapped gold resources within its greenstone belt setting. Plans are in place to carry out infill and extension drilling to refine and expand the mineral resource framework.

Mystery Zone Findings

At the Mystery zone, exploration aimed to track gold mineralisation beneath historical underground workings. The program successfully intercepted gold-bearing structures, providing evidence of mineralisation continuity at depth. The next phase of work will involve step-out drilling to test the limits of the known mineralised areas.

Long-Term Gold Potential in the Barrambie Belt

The Barrambie Project covers a substantial stretch of the Barrambie Greenstone Belt, a region known for historical gold mining activity. Neometals’ exploration strategy includes drilling along the Barrambie trend to identify additional high-priority targets, including the Barrambie Ranges mine.

Although Neometals is not part of the ASX 100 stocks list, its work at Barrambie could position the project as a significant contributor to Western Australia’s gold landscape over time. The company is taking a systematic approach, using both modern exploration methods and historical mining data to identify and expand mineralised zones.
