Scottie Resources receives green light for surface bulk sampling at flagship site
Equipment mobilisation begins, with blasting and transport scheduled in coming months
Data from bulk sample to inform development of direct shipping ore plan
The Canadian precious metals sector saw a development milestone as Scottie Resources Corp (TSX-V:SCOT) confirmed regulatory approval to launch a bulk surface sampling initiative at the Scottie Gold Mine Project. As part of its long-term ambitions for direct shipping ore, the company has secured relevant permissions from the British Columbia Government. While not listed on the Australian exchanges, international developments such as this have implications across global mining supply chains, which intersect with components of the All Ordinaries index.
The sampling program will play a key role in validating site-scale mineralisation strategies and downstream logistics planning.
Bulk Sampling Operations Set to Commence
With all required permits obtained, Scottie Resources is preparing to extract a surface bulk sample from its site. The operation involves the excavation of mineralised and non-mineralised material, intended to represent both resource grade and waste characteristics. The contractor has been secured and equipment is currently being transported to the project area in anticipation of the blast phase, which is expected to take place in the near term.
Following the blast and excavation phase, the sampled material is planned for off-site shipment and processing. This initiative is expected to support multiple downstream assessments, including metallurgical and comminution tests.
Off-Site Analysis to Guide Processing Pathways
The collected sample will be processed through third-party facilities where detailed testing and analysis will be conducted. These evaluations will focus on mineral recovery, comminution efficiency, and ore sorting behaviour. The company has outlined plans to assess material properties from a key gold-bearing vein and its host rock to determine optimum processing workflows.
This data is expected to guide decisions on ore preparation methods, with emphasis on minimising fines and enhancing value recovery from the bulk sample.
DSO Model to Benefit from Testing Outcomes
The information gained from the sampling and testing program is intended to serve as a foundation for validating Scottie Resources’ direct shipping ore concept. This bulk sample marks a step toward establishing operational viability at the site, with plans to optimise transport and processing of extracted material.
Company representatives noted that the speed and efficiency of regulatory approvals reflected support for responsible mining activities in the jurisdiction. The Scottie Gold Mine Project comprises a significant landholding that includes multiple mineral and crown-granted claims.
