ANZ Group (ASX:ANZ) has unveiled an operational restructuring aimed at boosting its efficiency, responsiveness, and alignment across divisions. As part of these changes, ANZ will establish a group-wide operations function that consolidates its existing operations, providing a more unified and streamlined approach. This transformation is designed to better support each division within the company, creating a cohesive structure that aligns with its goals of operational improvement.
This comprehensive reorganization will include appointing a new group executive of operations, who will report directly to CEO Shayne Elliott. This executive will oversee ANZ’s "capability centre infrastructure" alongside the property and procurement teams, aligning these critical resources to improve overall functionality and responsiveness across the organization.
In addition to the operations restructuring, ANZ has also committed to enhancing its data and analytics capabilities. A group-wide data and analytics function will be established, which will report to Gerard Florian, the group executive of technology. This move aims to elevate data strategy, architecture, and artificial intelligence (AI) integration within the organization. The newly formed data and analytics team will be headed by a chief data and analytics officer, a role dedicated to optimizing data use to support decision-making processes.
The new data and analytics division will focus on structuring ANZ’s approach to data management and exploring innovative AI applications, helping the organization harness technology to stay agile and competitive. By centralizing data strategy and analytics under a specialized leadership team, ANZ aims to foster a more data-driven environment that supports its long-term objectives.
The recruitment process for the new group executive of operations is currently underway, with both internal and external candidates being considered. ANZ anticipates that this new operational structure will be implemented by March 2025, marking a significant milestone in its journey toward increased operational excellence and technological alignment.
