Highlights

  • Invictus Energy Limited (ASX:IVZ) has received hydrocarbon Post-Stack Migrations of the CB21 survey data and the data from the reprocessing of US$30million legacy Mobil dataset.
  • The delivery of the final data set (pre-stack time migrated sections) is scheduled for early February 2022.
  • The CB21 Survey data has provided evidence of multiple trap geometry configurations, offering a target rich hydrocarbon environment for Invictus’ upcoming drilling campaign.

Invictus Energy Limited (ASX:IVZ) is on track with developments at its 80% owned and operated Cabora Bassa project in Zimbabwe. The Company has identified significant potential for the Project and drilling of the world-class Muzarabani prospect is anticipated to commence in May.

Continuing its development spree, Invictus has now received all hydrocarbon Post-Stack Migrations of the 2021 Cabora Bassa 2D Seismic Survey (CB21 survey) data. Additionally, the Company has received data from the reprocessing of US$30 million legacy Mobil dataset.

Excellent dataset overview

Data processing of the CB21 survey data is progressing on schedule with Earth Signal Processing in Calgary, Canada. The Company now has-

  • Post Stack Migration 2D seismic dataset and,
  • data from the reprocessing of US$30 million legacy Mobil dataset.

Notably, concurrent processing of both vintages of data will result in a contractor-consistent and process-consistent data set. Consequently, there will be minimal irregularities between the data sets which will provide a comprehensive and confident basis for seismic interpretation.

The quality control of the Post-Stack Migration data has been completed. It is already showing significant improvements in the overall seismic data quality. Besides, the CB21 Survey data has showcased evidence of multiple trap geometry configurations. This provides a target rich hydrocarbon environment for the upcoming drilling campaign.

What’s next?

The delivery of the final data set (pre-stack time migrated sections) is scheduled for early February 2022. These will be the optimised versions, inclusive of further image enhancements to the seismic data.

Interestingly, Polaris’ wireless node technology allowed the Company to lay parallel listening lines to the seismic lines being recorded at the time of survey. The swath recording technique offers a virtual 3D image of the deeper structures within the survey area.

Additionally, Invictus has observed multiple anomalies of interest across the Muzurabani Prospect- both across faults within the structure and at multiple levels under the prospect, along with many additional seismic anomalies along the Basin Margin fault. These will be subject to close scrutiny when additional products are delivered.
