A glance at the acquisition outcome

Following this acquisition, the two companies will work together to provide the Australian government mission-critical services using cutting-edge command-and-control systems and sensors on board aircraft. The Cobham Special Mission business, as an aerospace expert, owns 14 modified aircraft for this.

A few of the services offered by Special Mission are listed below:

Cobham Special Mission is involved in one of the world’s largest managed service civil maritime surveillance operations as per an agreement reached with the Australian Border Force. This also includes patrolling Australia's 8.2 million km² of the EEZ.
On behalf of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, Cobham Special Mission delivers fixed-wing SAR response capacity over land and sea.
Special Mission runs a specialised system for training mission crew and trains more than 30 mission aircrew annually.
