The ASX 200 opened in green today (June 23) and was up 0.442% to 6537.300 points at 11:39 AM AEST. Nine out of 11 sectors traded higher today, with A-REIT emerging as the best performing sector. The two sectors which traded in the red zone included the Energy and Materials sectors. The fall in oil prices by almost 3% and the drop in commodity prices seem to have pushed these two sectors down today.
The S&P/ASX 200 Consumer Discretionary Index (XDJ) was up 1.435% at 2691.900 points at 11:51 AM AEST, while the S&P/ASX 200 Communication Services Index (XTJ) was 0.831% higher at 1357.900 points at 11:55 AM AEST.
