- Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Ltd (ASX:BEN) and Megaport Ltd (ASX:MP1) gained the most on the ASX today, moving ahead by 7.25% and 6.85%, respectively.
- Chalice Mining Ltd (ASX:CHN) and Fortescue Metals Group Limited (ASX:FMG) fell 7.75% and 4.69%, respectively.
- Over the last five days, the index has lost 1.24% and 2.42% over the last 52 weeks.
- Seven out of 11 sectors closed in green today.

Legacy Minerals (ASX:LGM): At the Fontenoy property in New South Wales owned by Legacy Minerals (LGM), exploration with an AI focus has started.
Earth AI, a company's alliance partner, has used its AI technology to scour the Fontenoy project for essential and battery metals like copper, nickel, cobalt, platinum, and gold.
Breaker Resources (ASX:BRB): With effect from January 1, 2023, Samuel Smith, the company's existing COO, has been named CEO and executive director by Breaker Resources.
Smith, a mining engineer by profession, has knowledge of a variety of mining operations, including open pit mining, mine infrastructure, and exploration drilling.
Global markets
As encouraging indications from the US helped counteract pressure on iron ore, gold, and copper, the Australian market recovered from its three-week low from yesterday.
The S&P 500 gained 1.43% to 3,990.56. The Dow Jones was 1.58% up to 34,005.04. The NASDAQ Composite increased by 1.26% to 11,143.74, and the small-cap Russell 2000 climbed by 1.22% to 1,818.61.
In Asia, Nikkei in Japan gained 0.42%, the Hang Seng in Hong Kong climbed 0.36% while the Asia Dow was 0.74% down and Shanghai Composite in China decreased by 0.097% at 4.17 PM AEDT.
Bond yields
Australia’s 10-year bond yield stands at 3.42% as of 4.18 PM AEDT.
In commodities markets
Crude Oil WTI was spotted trading at US$74.09/bbl, while brent was at US$79.10/bbl at 4.19 PM AEDT.
Gold was at US$1782.73 an ounce, copper was at US$3.82/Lbs, and iron ore was at US$113.50/T at 4.19 PM AEDT.
