- Woodside Energy Group Ltd (ASX:WDS) and Beach Energy Ltd (ASX:BPT) gained the most on the ASX today, moving ahead 2.65% and 2.51%, respectively.
- Novonix Limited (ASX:NVX) and Sayona Mining Limited (ASX:SYA) fell 9.78% and 7.90%, respectively.
- Over the last five days, the index has lost 0.56% and 4.65% over the last 52 weeks.
- Healthcare was the biggest loser, fell 1.53% followed by industrials which was 1.09% down.

Neuren Pharmaceuticals (ASX:NEU): For its NNZ-2591 treatment for Prader-Willi syndrome, Neuren Pharmaceuticals has submitted an investigational new drug (IND) application.
On December 22, a brand-new Investigational New Drug (IND) was submitted to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) seeking approval to move forward with a phase two trial in Prader-Willi, a genetic condition that results in obesity, intellectual impairment, and short stature. Behavioral issues and continuous hunger are typical signs of the illness.
Mamba Exploration (ASX:M24): At its Black Hills project in Western Australia, Mamba Exploration has finished a thorough fixed loop electromagnetic (FLEM) survey over a high-priority southern VTEM target.
The southern high-priority VTEM target underwent a ground-based geophysical survey after the company signed a land access agreement in August.
Global markets
On seasonally light trading volume, stocks fell after conflicting signals from the US and commodity markets. Following the Christmas holiday, trading on Wall Street resumed this morning with two of the major indices ending lower.
The S&P 500 lost 0.40% to 3,829.25. The Dow Jones was 0.11% up to 33,241.56. The NASDAQ Composite decreased 1.38% to 10,353.23, and the small-cap Russell 2000 fell 0.65% to 1,749.52.
In Asia, the Asia Dow was 0.56% down, Nikkei in Japan fell 0.53%, Shanghai Composite in China decreased by 0.23 while Hang Seng in Hong Kong gained 1.52% at 4.18 PM AEDT.

Australia’s 10-year bond yield stands at 4.05% as of 4.18 PM AEDT.
In commodities markets
Crude Oil WTI was spotted trading at US$79.40/bbl, while brent was at US$84.14/bbl at 4.19 PM AEDT.
Gold was at US$1811.15 an ounce, copper was at US$3.85/Lbs, and iron ore was at US$114.00/T at 4.19 PM AEDT.
