The S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index closed a bit strong on Thursday (27 October 2022), gaining 0.61% to close at 6,852.30 points (as of 4:10 PM AEDT).

  • The ASX 200 benchmark index closed marginally up on Thursday at 6,852.30 points.
  • Ramelius Resources Limited (ASX:RMS) and Regis Resources Limited (ASX:RRL) closed 8.396% and 6.849% higher respectively.
  • Iluka Resources (ASX:ILU) and Core Lithium Ltd (ASX:CXO) ended 6.097% and 4.983% lower respectively.
  • In last five trading sessions, ASX 200 has gained 1.81%, but is down 7.96% for the last year-to-date.
  • Meanwhile, the Energy sector ended 2.34% strong, followed by the Materials sector that closed 1.61% higher. Industrials closed 0.94% up.
  • Financial sector ended 0.47% lower.

  • Ingenia Communities Group (ASX:INA) – The real estate giant announced today that two Ingenia Gardens rental communities and an inland regional holiday park, have been contracted for sale. The sale value stands at AU$16 million. The stock was trading 0.928% up at AU$3.805 apiece on ASX at 3:00 PM AEDT.
  • Syrah Resources Limited (ASX:SYR) – Syrah, in its Balama update, shared today that the Balama site in Mozambique has resumed operationsThe stock was spotted trading 1.489% up at AU$2.385 apiece at 3:06 PM AEDT.
  • Australian Clinical Labs Limited (ASX:ACL) – The Australian private provider of pathology services announced today that Medlab Pathology has been struck with a major cybercrime incident affecting 223k individuals. ACL acquired Medlab in December 2021. The stock was trading 5.225% lower at AU$3.355 apiece at 3:15 PM AEDT today.
  • Lynas Rare Earths Limited (ASX:LYC) – Lynas shared quarterly report for the period ended 30 September 2022 as per which it witnessed a mixed quarter. The company faced major operational challenges due to which sales revenue tumbled to AU$163.8 million, sales receipts fell to AU$234.4 million. However, the stock was spotted trading 5.443% strong at AU$8.330 apiece at 3:24 PM AEDT today.
  • Core Lithium Ltd (ASX:CXO) – In a major update, Core Lithium informed that the definitive product purchase deal with Tesla could not move ahead as the date for concluding the term sheet passed on 26 October 2022. CXO shares were spotted trading 5.326% lower at AU$1.377 apiece at 3:27 PM AEDT today.

In global markets:

Stocks on Wall Street closed mixed on Wednesday (26 October 2022). The benchmark S&P 500 index and the Nasdaq closed in the negative category while the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended a tad up.

The S&P 500 shed 28.89 points or 0.75% to end at 3,830.22 points. The Nasdaq Composite declined 2.05% or 229.67 points to end at 10,969.45 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average crawled up 3.49 points or 0.01% to end at 31,840.23 points on Wednesday.

In Commodities markets:

Crude Oil WTI was spotted at US$88.08/bbl at 4:01 PM AEDT. Brent oil was at US$94.00/BBL AT 4:02 PM AEDT. Gold was at US$1,669.40 an ounce at 4:02 PM AEDT today (27 October 2022).
