- Sayona Mining Limited (ASX:SYA) and Credit Corp Group Limited (ASX:CCP) gained the most on the index, moving ahead 10.64% and 7.90% respectively.
- Reliance Worldwide Corporation Ltd (ASX:RWC) and Ampol Limited (ASX:ALD) fell 13.37% and 12.56% respectively.
- Over the last five days, the index has gained 0.29%, but is down 8.68% for the last year to date.
- Nine out of 11 sectors closed in green today.
- A-REIT was the biggest gainer, advancing 1.74% followed by telecommunications services which ended 1.58% up, while energy falls 1.58%.
- The All-Ordinaries Index gained 0.22%.
Newsmakers
Optiscan Imaging (ASX:OIL): In order to obtain intellectual property, Optiscan Imaging and managing director Professor Camile Farah have signed a legally binding term sheet.
Meanwhile, shares of Optiscan Imaging closed at AU$0.15 each, up 7.14% on ASX today.
Pilbara Minerals (ASX:PLS): Pilbara Minerals via an ASX filing informed today that spodumene concentrate output for the September quarter increased by 16% to 147,105 dry metric tonnes (dmt).
The ASX 200-listed company stated that it was concentrating on raising production and sales in order to benefit from consumer demand and lithium raw material costs.
Meanwhile, shares of Pilbara Minerals closed at AU$5.36 each, down 0.37% on ASX today.

In global markets
On Monday (October 24), Wall Street indices opened the week higher, extending gains from the previous week, as investors appeared to be upbeat about the earnings season because the major tech companies are due to report this week.
This week, a number of businesses, including Alphabet, Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG), Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), and Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), are expected to release financial results.
The S&P 500 rose 1.19% to 3,797.34. The Dow Jones was up 1.34% to 31,499.62. The NASDAQ Composite rose 0.86% to 10,952.61, and the small-cap Russell 2000 rose 0.35% to 1,748.40.
In commodities markets
Crude Oil WTI was spotted trading at US$84.72/bbl while Brent Oil was at US$93.14/bbl at 4.43 PM AEDT.
Gold was at US$1648.49 an ounce, copper was at US$3.45/Lbs and iron ore was at US$95.50/T at 4.43 PM AEDT.
