Highlights

  • Sun Silver finds high-grade silver at Maverick Springs in Nevada.
  • Drilling shows up to 524 grams per tonne of silver over a 1.52m section.
  • New zones discovered outside the current mineral resource estimate.

Sun Silver Ltd (ASX:SS1) has uncovered significant silver mineralization at its Maverick Springs project in Nevada, with recent drilling confirming impressive silver grades. The company recorded up to 524 grams per tonne (g/t) of silver over a 1.52-meter interval, highlighting the potential for further discoveries at this site.

The exploration, guided by portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) readings, revealed multiple zones of silver mineralization. One standout result included 75 g/t silver over a width of 73 meters from a depth of 249.94 meters. Within this broader intersection, the highest internal grades reached 524 g/t over 1.52 meters from 254.51 meters.

Another nearby extensional hole also produced promising results, showing 48 g/t silver over a 10.67-meter section, with internal grades up to 161 g/t. Importantly, both drill holes lie outside the current mineral resource estimate, indicating potential for future resource growth.

Sun Silver’s executive director, Gerard O’Donovan, expressed optimism regarding the ongoing exploration program. He noted that the consistent discovery of silver mineralization outside of the current resource estimate is reinforcing confidence in the team’s geological work. The company’s goal is to expand the resource beyond its current level of 423 million ounces at 67.25 g/t silver equivalent (AgEq).

These strong results signal the possibility of significant resource expansion, positioning Sun Silver for further exploration success at Maverick Springs as drilling continues.

Sun Silver's latest exploration results indicate a growing potential for expanding the silver resource at Maverick Springs, supported by strong drill intersections and a dedicated geological team.
