Highlights:

  • Sun Silver initiates an extensive drilling campaign at Maverick Springs.

  • Exploration efforts focus on resource expansion and metallurgical advancements.

  • Additional analysis underway for antimony mineralization across the site.

Sun Silver (ASX:SS1) has commenced an extensive drilling program at Maverick Springs, a silver-gold project in Nevada. The initiative follows earlier exploration activities that identified high-grade mineralization. Alford Drilling has been contracted to execute this program, which aims to enhance resource confidence and expand the mineral footprint. The program builds upon results from prior drilling, with intercepts revealing silver-equivalent grades across significant intervals.

The current mineral resource assessment does not yet reflect recent drilling data, which highlighted extensive silver and gold mineralization. Resource modeling efforts will integrate new findings, supporting further geological assessments. Drilling activities will also extend to step-out targets to the northwest, evaluating additional mineralized zones.

Metallurgical Studies and Project Development

In addition to resource expansion, Sun Silver is conducting metallurgical studies to refine recovery processes. Composite samples from the drilling campaign are being analyzed to optimize extraction techniques. This initiative is a key step in shaping the broader project strategy and refining exploration methodologies for ongoing development.

Maverick Springs is located within a well-established mining region, with several major silver and gold operations nearby. The deposit hosts significant mineralization across a broad strike length and remains open at depth, underscoring further exploration objectives.

Assessment of Additional Mineralization

Beyond silver and gold, historical drill core and chip samples are undergoing further evaluation for antimony mineralization. Testing has confirmed the presence of this critical mineral across multiple drill holes, with recorded concentrations reaching substantial levels. The mineralization is distributed across a wide area, indicating prospective zones for additional assessment.

Exploration crews and drilling rigs are currently on-site, advancing project objectives through targeted drilling and geological analysis. These initiatives represent significant steps in refining the mineral resource framework and advancing exploration at Maverick Springs.
