Olympio Metals adds new drill holes at Amadee based on visual gold indicators
Geological alignment between Amadee and Paquin raises exploration interest
Broader program includes Decoeur Extension and multiple underexplored zones
Australian mineral exploration company Olympio Metals (ASX:OLY), listed on the ASX 300, is intensifying its diamond drilling activities at the Bousquet Project in Québec, Canada. The expansion of drill coverage follows promising geological similarities between the Amadee and Paquin prospects, both located on the Cadillac-Lake Larder Fault Zone.
The company has confirmed that drilling has begun at Amadee, situated directly west of Paquin, where visible gold was previously intersected. To date, multiple holes at Amadee have revealed smoky quartz veins with sulphides, with mineralisation observed from near surface in several locations, particularly in the project’s western region.
Geological Indicators Support Priority Shift at Amadee
Olympio has elevated Amadee as a priority target after recent inspections of outcroppings showed veining similar to the gold-bearing structures logged in Paquin core samples. In response, the company has added three more holes to test the potential continuation of this mineralisation further west.
The broader geological trend indicates the two prospects may be connected by an extensive structure. Early interpretations suggest the alignment could extend along a significant strike, and exploration efforts are now aimed at tracing that continuity between the identified zones.
Expanded Campaign Encompasses Multiple Prospect Areas
Olympio commenced its latest drilling campaign in June, focusing initially on Paquin and Decoeur with an initial phase of drilling. In addition to Amadee and Paquin, several underexplored zones including the Decoeur Extension are being targeted. The extension hosts a large induced polarisation anomaly along a major sub-province bounding fault that has seen limited prior exploration.
These additional targets form part of a broader regional strategy to unlock structural and geophysical anomalies that have not been tested with modern drilling technologies. The company has outlined its intention to maintain momentum by executing continuous drilling across multiple prospective corridors.
Strategic Exploration Framework at Bousquet
Olympio holds an option to earn up to eighty percent of the Bousquet Project. The landholding comprises several gold prospects and is underpinned by high-priority structures that have not been systematically assessed in past campaigns.
The first round of assay results is expected to be received by mid-July, which will provide initial insights into the expanded exploration area. These results will be used to guide the next steps in the ongoing program as the company advances its work across Canada’s prolific gold belt.
