Highlights

  • Military Metals secures an additional 388 hectares at the West Gore Antimony Project.
  • Historical significance includes antimony-gold production and contributions during World War One.
  • Integrated exploration plans are underway for unlocking the project's full potential.

Military Metals has strengthened its presence at the West Gore Antimony Project in Nova Scotia, Canada, with the acquisition of additional claims spanning 388 hectares. This new territory significantly expands the existing 585-hectare landholding and is believed to encompass the full extent of the West Gore antimony-gold mineralized system, including historical mining zones and known occurrences.

This strategic expansion comes under an asset purchase agreement with ExplORE Resources, involving a payment of CAD 235,000 over two years. Additionally, ExplORE Resources will retain a 3% net smelter royalty on the new claims. The move aligns with Military Metals' objective to consolidate and comprehensively explore the mineralized zone.

By integrating these newly acquired claims, Military Metals now holds considerable control over the entire antimony-gold system at West Gore. This includes historic mine workings and additional prospective ground along the trend, enhancing opportunities to maximize the project's value. The company is actively compiling relevant data into a comprehensive database, paving the way for well-informed exploration strategies.

The historical relevance of the West Gore Antimony Project adds intrigue to this development. From 1914 to 1917, the site produced 7,000 tonnes of antimony concentrate, recording a notable 46% grade. Its production played a critical role in the Allied war effort during World War One, although operations ceased following a U-boat attack on an export shipment to England.

Beyond antimony, the site is also rich in gold, with estimated recoveries of 6,900 ounces between 1914 and 1917. The project has a mining legacy stretching back to 1883, when both gold and antimony were mined.

Military Metals, a British Columbia-based mineral exploration company, has steadily focused on acquiring, discovering, and developing properties with prospects for critical minerals like antimony and gold. The West Gore project reflects its commitment to targeting minerals crucial for industrial applications and global resource security.

With this acquisition, Military Metals has set the stage for a robust exploration program, aiming to realize the untapped potential of this historically significant and resource-rich site.
