Highlights
- Major decrease in post-surgery pain with NervAlign technology
- NervAlign (RNV) technology fully integrates into the body in six months
- High patient satisfaction and likelihood to elect surgery again
In a significant advancement in the field of nerve repair, ReNerve (RNV), a leader in nerve repair and regeneration solutions, has reported outstanding patient outcomes from the use of its NervAlign Nerve Cuff technology. This technology, developed to aid in the recovery of peripheral nerve surgeries, has shown a notable reduction in patient pain and an increase in overall satisfaction with surgical results.
Recent findings have demonstrated that patients undergoing surgeries with the NervAlign Nerve Cuff report a dramatic decline in post-operative pain. Average pain scores post-surgery fell from 7.1 to a mere 0.4 when using the NervAlign Nerve Cuff, compared to a reduction from 7.1 to 3.3 without it. This substantial decrease in pain highlights the effectiveness of the NervAlign technology in enhancing patient comfort and recovery quality.
The NervAlign Nerve Cuff, engineered by ReNerve, is designed to safeguard nerves that are being repaired or are regenerating after injury. A standout feature of the device is its ability to be completely absorbed by the body within six months after surgery, leaving behind only the healed tissue. This property ensures that there is no foreign material left in the body long-term, which can be a concern with other surgical implants.
Presented at the prestigious American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons annual conference in Arizona, the study also revealed that patients treated with the Nerve Cuff were more satisfied with their surgical outcomes. A striking 93% of these patients reported they would choose to undergo surgery again if needed, compared to 70% of those who did not receive the Nerve Cuff.
Dr. Julian Chick, Chief Executive Officer of ReNerve, commented on the breakthrough, noting the significant impact of the NervAlign Nerve Cuff on reducing pain and facilitating the recovery process. "These are very significant results for the development of ReNerve’s products, as they underscore the utility of the NervAlign Nerve Cuff in reducing patients' pain following peripheral nerve surgery,” said Dr. Chick. He further emphasized that the results clearly demonstrate the patient benefits that follow from proper nerve repair and regeneration.
This latest development positions ReNerve (RNV) at the forefront of the nerve repair field, showcasing the potential of NervAlign Nerve Cuff to significantly enhance surgical outcomes and patient experiences in peripheral nerve surgeries. The study's results mark a promising direction for future applications of the technology in a variety of surgical contexts, further solidifying ReNerve’s role as a pioneer in medical innovation.
