In a significant rebranding move, the company formerly known as Incitec Pivot has announced its new corporate identity as Dyno Nobel (ASX:DNL). This change, endorsed by shareholders at the annual general meeting in December 2024, symbolizes the company's renewed commitment to sustainability and innovation. As part of this rebranding, the company will also transition to a new ticker code, changing from IPL to DNL, effective from the start of trading on April 2.
This rebranding follows closely on the heels of Dyno Nobel's inclusion in the prestigious S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025, a recognition that highlights the company's continuous efforts in corporate sustainability. Achieving an S&P Global 2024 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) Score within 30% of the industry’s top performers, Dyno Nobel has consistently demonstrated its leadership in the chemicals sector, maintaining a position in the top 15% since its first inclusion in the index in 2010.
Under the guidance of CEO Mauro Neves, Dyno Nobel is not just changing its name but also amplifying its commitment to environmental stewardship. In the past year, the company has successfully commissioned two tertiary nitrous oxide (N2O) abatement projects. These projects, located at their manufacturing sites in Moranbah, Australia, and Louisiana, Missouri (LOMO), are poised to make substantial impacts on carbon emissions. The LOMO project alone is set to eliminate approximately 520,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent annually, which is comparable to removing 125,000 vehicles from the roads or planting over 9 million trees.
In addition to these projects, Dyno Nobel conducted a comprehensive double materiality assessment in 2024. This evaluation was aimed at identifying the most material risks and opportunities to stakeholders and the environment, as well as those significant to the financial sustainability of the business. The findings from this assessment are expected to shape the company's sustainability strategy over the next three years.
Dyno Nobel’s proactive approach to sustainability and its strategic rebranding mark a new chapter in its journey, emphasizing its role as a leader in environmental responsibility within the chemical industry. This strategic pivot not only reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable practices but also aligns with global efforts to mitigate environmental impacts, setting a benchmark for others in the industry.
