Asian Battery Metals (LSE:AZ9) has officially launched its 2025 regional exploration campaign across the Yambat Project in southwestern Mongolia, aiming to unlock value from multiple copper-gold and copper-nickel targets beyond its flagship Oval Cu-Ni-PGE discovery.

With drilling activities set to begin between April and May 2025, the company is focusing on three high-priority zones: Copper Ridge, MS1, and MS2. These targets have shown encouraging geological and geophysical indicators, marking a significant step forward in Asian Battery Metals’ regional exploration strategy.

Drilling Plans at Key Targets
At Copper Ridge, two new diamond drillholes (SC07 and SC08) are scheduled, targeting zones east and north of a 2024 scout hole that returned 137.3 metres of semi-continuous mineralisation. Notably, this included 20 metres grading 0.21% copper and 0.43 grams per tonne gold. These drillholes are intended to expand the known copper-gold footprint within the area.

The MS1 and MS2 targets are being drilled for the first time. MS1, located 6 kilometres southeast of the Oval discovery, features high-magnetic, chargeability, and gravity anomalies beneath 100 metres of cover. The company will begin with a magnetic survey followed by a 250-metre diamond drillhole (PMS1) to test this anomaly.

At MS2, recent field mapping has revealed signs of contact metamorphism linked to the Oval intrusion. Previous geophysical surveys uncovered coincident anomalies, and while surface geochemistry was inconclusive, arsenic anomalies hint at a deeper magmatic-hydrothermal system. A 150-metre drillhole (SC06) and additional mapping will help further evaluate this target.

GAIP Survey at CR Far East
In parallel, a Gradient Array Induced Polarisation (GAIP) survey spanning 39.5 kilometres is planned at CR Far East. This early-stage copper-nickel-cobalt target was defined through scattered magnetic anomalies, alteration patterns, and stream sediment sampling. The survey aims to refine the geological model and identify priority drill sites.

Strategic Vision and Funding
Asian Battery Metals remains fully funded to advance this exploration campaign, which complements ongoing Phase 3 drilling at the Oval discovery. The regional program is designed to establish a pipeline of copper and nickel targets, aligning with growing demand for critical minerals in Asia’s energy transition.
