Today the Australian stock market reflected a fluctuating pattern as the benchmark index S&P/ASX200 kept going up and down between the red and green zones. However, it managed to end up in the green zone and settled at 5944.8, slightly up by 0.33 per cent as compared to Friday's closure of 5925.5.
On Friday, the US stock market had a gloomy trading session with the benchmark indices ending in the red zone. The Nasdaq Composite dipped by 1.27 per cent, Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 0.56 per cent, and S&P 500 fell by 0.81 per cent.
If we talk about the commodity section at AEST: 3:18 PM, the crude oil dipped by 1.38 per cent and was trading at USD 39.20 a barrel, the Australian dollar dropped by 0.05 per cent and was trading at AUD 0.7275. At the same time, gold declined by 0.25 per cent and was trading at USD 1929.13.

- Virgin Money UK PLC (ASX:VUK) was the top gainer today. It traded at AUD 1.695 and was up by 6.27 per cent.
- Webjet Limited (ASX:WEB) remained at the second top position. It traded at AUD ~3.77 and was up by ~5.01 per cent.
The worst-performing stocks during today's trading session are:
- Mesoblast Limited (ASX:MSB)traded at AUD 4.680 and was dipped by 5.455 per cent.
- IOOF Holdings Ltd (ASX:IFL) traded at AUD 3.420, was down by 4.735 per cent.
