Australian exploration company, King River Resources Limited (ASX:KRR) has reported the progress of Speewah Prefeasibility Study (PFS) on its wholly owned Speewah Specialty Metals (SSM) Project in Western Australia.
Over the last few months, following significant developments have been the focus of testwork and studies:
- Purification circuit simplification for producing a high purity HPA (High Purity Alumina) precursor.
- Calcination of the HPA precursor for ensuring no contamination is introduced, and 4N HPA is produced.
- Initial phase tests using XRD analysis have indicated the conversion of alumina to the stable alpha form, suitable for LED and battery separator applications.
- Generation of larger final sample sizes for more comprehensive testwork and analysis.
- Independent umpire assay laboratory and protocols have been selected.
- Marketing study being updated by CRU International to a 2028 dateline.
The Company’s hydrometallurgical testwork and studies are also underway, while the potential of using HPA process route on alternative aluminium feedstocks is being evaluated.
KRR stock traded upward by 3.226% to $0.032 on 7 September 2020 (AEST 12:53 PM).
