iCandy Launched Its First Ever Blockchain Game CryptantCrab

On January 9, 2019, iCandy Interactive Limited (ASX: ICI) has launched its first-ever blockchain game, CryptantCrab. CryptantCrab is the first blockchain technology which is developed by iCandy and this game is based on the Ethereum blockchain framework and is approachable via the CryptantCrab’s website (#/).

iCandy Interactive Limited develops and publishes mobile games and digital entertainment for a global audience. The company has won various awards in several international events. The company got listed on ASX in February 2016.

CryptantCrab takes inspiration from the famous Asian past time when Asians raised fighting fish. Hence going forward with the similar concept, in this game the digital crustaceans will come alive on the blockchain. Through key gameplay mechanics which is known as Mutation and Xenograph, players can start customizing and mutating their virtual crabs. Using Mutation feature, players can transform a part of the virtual crab into a different and stronger one. By continuous use of mutations on a single part, players can gradually increase the chance of obtaining legendary versions of the said part.

As for Xenograft feature, this helps players to transplant specific parts from other crabs, and this feature is suitable for those who want predictable results while completing crab sets or creating a customized ferocious fighter-crab.

CryptantCrab will further expand its player interactivity with a newly launched player-to-player online marketplace that will allow trading of the virtual crabs among the players. The company’s management expects that it will become a popular feature with CryptantCrab players as this feature is not like the trading of game cards or digital game cards that many gamers are used to.

Soon CryptantCrab will release a feature that will allow virtual crabs to get into a battle with one another. This feature will encourage further customization and trading among players, indirectly leading to the enhancement of the game ecosystem of CryptantCrab. The battle mode feature of CryptantCrab is expected to be released in first half of 2019.

CryptantCrab is an important milestone for the company, as blockchain technology is increasingly deemed as an important technology for game developers worldwide.

Till now, CryptantCrab has sold over 1,200 virtual crabs online at an average price of USD 50 per virtual crab. These initial results have exceeded the expectations of the company and reinforce the fact that gamers are early adopters of blockchain based games and technology.
