With growing interest in silica flour products, the company has dispatched samples to a select number of potential customers in Asia. This suggests potential market expansion opportunities.
Commenting on the results, VRX Managing Director Bruce Maluish said: “These assay results are the next step in examining the potential for new product lines and downstream processing opportunities for silica sand from our Muchea Silica Sand Project, including an examination of the viability of new industries in Western Australia.”
He added that VRX is actively exploring various downstream processing opportunities to create higher-value products, enhancing the value of VRX's world-class high-quality Muchea Silica Sand Project.
The company is investigating potential markets for fine silica, with a focus on industries such as LCD, pharmaceutical, and flint glass industries. Additionally, the company is exploring applications in Epoxy Moulding Compound (EMC) encapsulation, high tensile fiberglass production, anti-stain paint fillers, 3D printer materials, cristobalite for road marking paint, laser printer inks, quartz crucibles, and semiconductor industries.
Further progress will depend on confirmation testing by potential customer labs and ensuring market demand, especially for LCD glass specification silica flour.
The process circuits utilised for producing silica flour products primarily consist of ceramic components and are designed to be fully sealed, thus preventing any dust exposure to employees or the surrounding environment.
