Highlights

  • Viking’s total landholding across its US Tungsten Projects has expanded to approximately 20km².
  • Newly staked claims secure interpreted extensions of known high-grade tungsten systems.
  • Linka Project expansion has secured the interpreted prospective horizons.
  • Ragged Top claims have been extended to include historical workings located 1.9km from the main mine.
  • Additional regional exploration optionality has been added at the Long and Terrell Projects.
  • Preparations are underway for Notice of Intent submissions to enable drilling.

Viking Mines Ltd (ASX:VKA) has further strengthened its strategic landholding across its US Tungsten Projects in Nevada. Following a detailed technical review of its acquired project portfolio, the company has staked additional mining claims to secure interpreted extensions of known high-grade tungsten mineralisation.

As a result of the staking program, the land package has increased to approximately 20km². The expanded footprint ensures control over the most prospective geological trends surrounding the Linka, Long, Ragged Top and Terrell Projects.

Linka Project Targets Key Geological Controls

Additional mineral claims have been staked adjacent to those being acquired from BLK Group LLC, following the prospective geological trend. The expanded landholding captures a prominent magnetic high identified in regional USGS datasets. This anomaly is interpreted as the source intrusion for the mineral system. The contact zones between the intrusion and surrounding sedimentary rocks are considered the primary targets for tungsten (scheelite) mineralisation.

Ragged Top Expansion Captures Historical Workings

The Ragged Top Project land package has been extended to surround the historic Ragged Top Mine and include prospective adjacent ground. Notably, the company has secured claims located approximately 1.9km northeast of the main mine, covering documented historical surface workings.

These workings indicate a more extensive mineralised footprint than previously recognised.

Increased Optionality at Long and Terrell

At the Long Project, newly staked claims extend along the interpreted strike of known mineralisation. This expansion provides additional regional exploration optionality beyond the immediate mine environment.

Similarly, at the Terrell Project, the enlarged land position secures tenure around the historic mine site, enabling modern and systematic exploration across the wider district.

Advancing Towards Drilling Approvals

Viking is progressing toward the submission of a Notice of Intent to relevant Federal Agencies to secure drilling permits across the expanded portfolio. Planned activities at the Linka Project include development of metallurgical testwork flowsheet, high-resolution aerial surveys, gravity and magnetic surveys, compilation of historical data, evaluation of assays from due diligence field sampling and drill planning.

In parallel, the company continues its assessment of the additional projects being acquired, as it advances exploration across its growing US tungsten portfolio.

VKA shares were trading at AUD 0.009 per share at the time of writing on 15 January 2026.
